(Flash Point):

The flash point test is conducted in two closed and open forms, according to which the open test result is several times higher than the closed test.

When oil, at the lowest temperature, is vaporized, to such an extent, that it becomes flammable and then dies out, it is called “flash point”.

Fire Point:

When oil is vaporized, at the lowest temperature, to such an extent, that it becomes flammable, due to the source of flame, and then it continues to ignite, even after removal of the flame; this is so –called “fire point”. Usually, this temperature is 15 Celsius higher than “flash point”.

Pour Point:

The lowest temperature, at which the oil can flow in fluid form, is so called oil pour point.   The pour point is important when coolant systems are the case.

Density:

The density or specific gravity is equivalent to the mass at 1 cc. Of the oil at 15 Celsius, expressed at the unit rate gr. /cc.

Vapor Pressure:

The volatility of oil is expressed in terms of the direct measurement of the oil vapor, which is condensed in a vacuum temperature container, and after weighing, the oil weight reduction is expressed in a time function.
